Pool Pump Frequently Asked Questions
How Much Does It Cost To Replace A Pool Pump
Depending on your pool size and filtration needs the normal range to replace a Pool Pump would be between $1000 - $3000.
How Long Does A Pool Pump Last?
The life expectancy of a Pool Pump would be between 5 to 10 years. There are a lot of factors that would reduce or increase the life span. Good planned maintenance will keep the pump working efficiently and increase its longevity.
How Do I Know If My Pool Pump Is Dying?
There are certain tell tale signs that your Pool Pump is dying like;
- The Pool Pump is running hot
- The Pool Pump hasn't enough power to move the Pool Cleaner
- The Pool Pump is making a humming noise
- The Pool Pump is cutting out during its normal operation
- Your pool outlet jets have reduced pressure
What Size Pool Pump Do I Need?
There are a few factors to think about when buying the correct Pool Pump for your swimming pool. These are;
- Distance from Pool to Pump
- Height (Head) of water the pump may need to push the water up to get to the pool
- Pool size - Running your pool pump for no more than 8 hours, you'll want to cycle the entire pool at least twice a day.
Our EAQuip 1Hp (1100w) Pool Pump will happily pump 18,000 litres of water an hour with a head height of 8 metres. So if you had a 50,000 litre pool, it would turnover your pool close to 3 times a day (8 hour run cycle).
How Long Should I Run My Pool Pump For Everyday?
Excluding environmental factors like shading, an Australian pool in summer should run for 6 to 8 hours or the equivalent to turnover the pool twice. In Winter that time is reduced to 4 to 6 hours.
